Okay, so I’ve done out a little timeline of Newt Scamander’s life up until Fantastic Beasts:
1897: Born
1908 – 1915: Hogwarts
1915 – 1917: Employed in the Ministry of Magic in the Office for House-Elf Relocation
1917: Transferred to Beast Division 1918: Commissioned to write Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them
1927: FBAWTFT is first published
As you can see, Newt spent the time between 1918 & 1927 researching & writing his first book. We’ve also already been told that the movie is the first in a series – so we can possibly expect for the series to span those nine years of Newt’s life as he travels the globe. That’s a lot of movies!
