Dan Fogler has officially been cast as ‘Jacob’ in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts movie. According to Deadline, Jacob is actually non-magical – meaning he could either be a Muggle (non magical person born to non magical parents) or a Squib (non magical person born into a magical family).
He’ll play the role of Jacob, a non-magical person whom Newt (Redmayne) befriends while on his adventure in New York.

This also goes against previous reports that Jacob was to be a ‘rival’ for Newt, which will now possibly be the one male character left to be cast.
