Here we see Jacob, Lally, Newt and Theseus enter the Room of Requirement, where they meet Albus and Bunty:

As the quartet enter the room, we hear Albus enquire:
“I trust you all have the tickets that Bunty gave you? You’ll need them to gain access to the ceremony”
This is referring to the ‘Walk of the Qilin’ ceremony ticket, as we’ve seen previously, designed by MinaLima
“I assume the Qilin is in one of these cases?”

So what does this all tell us? It confirms that the duplicate cases are, in fact, decoys. A Qilin (presumably the one we see Newt rescuing in China at the start of the film) is hidden in one of the cases made to look like Newt’s – the other four are decoys. We know Lally’s is full of books, Jacob’s pastries and Theseus’ bludgers, leaving two; Buntys and Newts.
Or maybe there’s a sneaky sixth decoy case somewhere, just to really make sure Grindelwald has a hard time tracking them – we don’t have long to wait to find out!
