Earlier this week the Fantastic Beasts: The Complete Screenplay was released, and with it came a host of ‘extra’ visuals.
While the previous two screenplay books were titled ‘the original screenplay’, this third ‘complete screenplay’ addition promised the reader a behind-the-scenes look and commentary of the film.
This post is not a review, but a look at what you can expect from the new release, starting with the costume sketch pages:
You’ll notice that the whole book is in black and white, which is particularly unfortunate in the above images, as colour plays a huge role in costume design.
Next up we have the graphic design pages featuring some previously unseen props, which should interest fans wishing to make their own paper replicas:
Lastly, we have a small number of both in-world and out sketchings, including the architectural plans for the entrance to the Erkstag prison in Berlin. It’s a shame only one of these plans was included as they’re particularly interesting – hopefully a book full of these from all Fantastic Beasts films will be released in the future.
In addition to all the above, there are a small number of pages I didn’t include, mainly location renderings, as well as quotes from the cast and crew which will be posted separately.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – The Complete Screenplay is available to purchase now in both hardback and e-book format.
